PR will not sit in Opposition: Chiranjeevi

Madhurapudi, January 18: Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi has declared that his party will not sit in the Opposition benches after the Assembly elections. “The people will not allow that.  We, sitting in Opposition means, insulting the people,” Mr. Chiranjeevi answered a question while speaking to media persons at the entrance of airport. En route to Rajam in Vizianagaram district on Saturday, Mr. Chiranjeevi’s helicopter took a break here for refuelling. He also had lunch at the airport. Answering another question, he said that the party did not want to join the grand alliance. He said that the people want Praja Rajyam to fight alone and capture power on its own. However, the alliance with BSP is at national level and they know there is no base for BSP in the State. The Praja Rajyam leader did not give a straight reply on whether he will join hands with BJP. He explained that, at the beginning, his party leader Mitra as a Leftist, tried to have a tie-up with CPM, but somehow that failed. “We are still ready to join hands with like-minded parties.” Replying on continuing with welfare schemes introduced by the Congress government, the PR president said he would continue with all the welfare schemes, but not corruption in those schemes. When he was asked about funding to continue with the schemes and announcing fresh sops during electioneering, he shot back, “Did anyone think about funding when free power was announced?” --Agencies--

Praja Rajyam registration line clear

The person who applied for registration with Praja Rajyam name had with drawn his claim clearing the hassle free registration of Chiru party. The registration of Praja Rajyam of Chiranjeevi was postponed for the next month by the Election Commission.

His interests are Economics, Politics, Society, Literature, and Philosophy. Dr Prabhakar’s family was close of Chiru’s father- in-law Allu Ramalingaiah family. Chiru said that politics is in Dr Prabhakar’s genes. On the occasion of his appointment as party spokesperson, Dr Prabhakar said that Chiru party will bring great change in the State politics. Dr Mithra is from Leftist ideology family, whereas, Dr Prabhakar has rightist leanings. Chiru said that he is neither leftist nor rightist he is humanist. Though the spokespersons are not policy makers, how the left and right combination will effect Chiru ideology will be known in the coming days.
